Xavier Women Draw Gonzaga in the Big Dance

The Xavier University women's basketball team dancing in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season. The XU women (25-6) garnered a No. 5 seed and will face No. 12 Gonzaga (25-6) in the Oklahoma City Regional on Saturday. Game time is set for 10:30 p.m. EST at the University of Washington's Bank of America Arena in Seattle.
“I’m really proud of our team," said Xavier head coach Kevin McGuff. "You look at where we were in October, and where we are right now we’ve made a lot of great progress. It’s a real testament to our team and our players”
The No. 5 seed is the second-highest seed XU has ever attained. Xavier was a No. 4 seed in 2001. The Musketeers have played in the postseason 11 times in the last 12 seasons. X's last win in the NCAA Tournament came in 2001 when the Musketeers made a run to the Elite Eight.
