Women Lose Heartbreaker to Stanford

Junior forward Amber Harris scored a game-high 20 points but the No. 5 Xavier University women's basketball team fell victim to a coast-to-coast buzzer-beating lay-up by Stanford's Jeanette Pohlen as the Musketeers were nipped, 55-53, by No. 2 Stanford in the Sacramento Regional Final of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. With the loss, XU concludes its season with a 30-4 record while Stanford improves to 35-1 and advances to the Final Four in San Antonio.
Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips were each named to the All-Sacramento Region Team.
