X Wins Second Straight with Victory over Seton Hall
The Xavier Musketeers survived their first contest following Edmond Sumner's season ending injury with a 72-70 victory over visiting Seton Hall on Wednesday night before 10,087 fans at Cintas Center. Freshman Quentin Goodin stepped up to the challenge, taking over duties as starting point guard for the Muskies. Goodin directed the offense, scoring eight points, dishing seven assists and playing solid defense including a key defensive blocked shot down the stretch in his 35 minutes of action. It was veteran all-league forward Trevon Bluiett, though, that took charge and led Xavier (15-6, 6-3) to victory.
Bluiett finished with 24 points and seven rebounds. His most notable basket was his last, driving the ball to the basket off the left side, absorbing contact and draining it for the game winner. Following the win, the Musketeers gear up for their next challenge as they travel to Omaha, Nebraska to face off against No. 22 Creighton on Saturday. Game time is set for 3:00 pm and will air on Fox.
