By Jay Skeldon, 2/8/2017

Trevon Bluiett led all scorers with 20 points as the No. 24 Xavier Musketeers knocked off DePaul before a sold-out crowd of 10,250 at Cintas Center on Wednesday night. With the win, Xavier improves to 18-6 (8-3 Big East). Bluiett's scoring included 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc while also pulling down seven rebounds. Bluiett was joined in double figures scoring by Rashid Gaston (14 points) and J.P. Macura (13 points). Other notables and personal career-highs for X included Kaiser Gates who reeled in a game-high 10 boards and Quentin Goodin who dished eight assists in the winning effort. The Muskies journey through the Big East must next go through the second ranked team in the country, the Villanova Wildcats, on Saturday. Xavier will look to hold serve on its home court and pull off a major win as the Muskies were knocked off in January by VU, 79-54. Game time is set for 2:30pm at Cintas Center.
