Xavier Secures No. 1 Seed in 2018 NCAA Tournament
By Musketeer Madness, 3/11/2018

The bracketology and speculation are officially over, and the Xavier Musketeers (28-5) will be dancing in the 2018 NCAA Tournament men's basketball tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West Region. Xavier will face off against the No. 16 seed - the winner of NC Central and Texas Southern - in Nashville on Friday evening at 7:20 pm. NC Central (19-15) and Texas Southern (15-19) will play on Wednesday in Dayton in one of the four play-in games with the winner advancing to take on the Muskies in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. XU has never previously met either program.

The No. 1 seed is the highest in program history for the BIG EAST regular season champion Xavier, eclipsing its previous high of No. 2 seed which they earned in the 2015-16 season. Friday's game will be played at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and will be aired nationally on TBS.
