Travis Steele Named Head Coach at X
On Wednesday afternoon at Cintas Center, Xavier University Athletic Director Greg Christopher introduced Travis Steele as the 18th Head Basketball Coach at Xavier. Steele, 36, succeeds Chris Mack and looks to continue the tradition of success on and off the basketball court at Xavier. Steele was previously the Associate Head Coach under Mack and has been an assistant at Xavier for the last 10 years including one year under Sean Miller and nine years under Mack. Steele is confident and ready for the challenge ahead. The Musketeers just completed a highly successful year as the BIG EAST regular season champions and earning a No. 1 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. "We obviously have a great program and a great product here at Xavier University," said Steele. "We're going upwards. Every coach has made Xavier a better place than it was before. And, that's my responsibility, and it's a huge responsibility and I embrace that."
