Musketeers Victorious on Senior Night Over St. Johns
By Jay Skeldon, 3/9/2019

The Xavier Musketeers knocked off the visiting Red Storm from St. Johns, 81-68, on Saturday evening at Cintas Center. The game marked XU's BIG EAST regular season finale and also the last regular season home game for Xavier's three graduate seniors, Zach Hankins, Ryan Welage, and Kyle Castlin. The trio made the most of it, as each scored in double figures and were significant contributors in the Musketeer win. Paul Scruggs led all scorers with 22 points to go with six rebounds and four assists while playing lockdown defense in 40 minutes of action. Welage added 19 while Hankins and Castlin each chipped in 12 points while pulling down seven and six rebounds, respectively.

With the win, Xavier moves its overall record to 17-14 and finishes BIG EAST action at an even 9-9. The Musketeers have now won 6 of their last 7 games and look to bottle up that momentum as they head to the BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York City starting next week.
