Butler Eclipses X on Last Second 3-Pointer
By Musketeer Madness, 3/7/2020

Naji Marshall converted a clutch dribble drive 3-point play in the paint to give Xavier a two point lead over Butler with 8.9 seconds to play. However, Butler's Kamar Baldwin played the spoiler on the ensuing play, dribbling the length of the court to drain a 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds to play to give the Bulldogs a one point win over Xavier, 72-71, on Senior Day at Cintas Center. Baldwin's performance was spectactular, finishing with half of Butler's points for a game-high 36. Marshall was also brilliant for X, scoring 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Jason Carter added a season-high 17 points in a strong performance for the Musketeers. With the loss, Xavier (19-12, 8-10 BIG EAST) finishes in seventh place in the BIG EAST and will be forced to play in the First Round of the BIG EAST Tournament against DePaul starting on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Game time is set for 9:30 p.m.
