Scruggs Leads X Past No. 13 Creighton on Senior Day

With a lot on the line regarding the Musketeers' postseason chances, Xavier seized the opportunity on Saturday, upsetting No. 13 Creighton, 77-69, at Cintas Center. Paul Scruggs shined on Senior Day, finishing with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point range to go with 7 rebounds. Zach Freemantle added a double-double performance of 17 points and 10 boards as Xavier improved its records to 13-5 overall and 6-5 in the BIG EAST. Rounding out the star performers for X were freshman Dwon Odom and junior Adam Kunkel who notched 12 points apiece. Meanwhile, the Creighton Bluejays (17-6, 13-5 BE) were led by Damien Jefferson who scored 19 points.

Next up for X is a road trip to the nation's capital as it faces off against Georgetown on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on FS1.
