Marshall Leads X Past DePaul

The Xavier Musketeers returned to the winning column on Tuesday night, knocking off visiting DePaul, 78-67, before 10,224 fans at Cintas Center. The Musketeers were led by Naji Marshall who scored a game-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 3-of-8 from behind the 3-point arc. Marshall also reeled in six rebounds and dished six assists in the winning effort. He was joined in double-digit scoring by three other players for Xavier including Paul Scruggs (12), Zach Freemantle (11), and KyKy Tandy (10). As a team, the Musketeers knocked in a season-high twelve 3-pointers (12-of-25) including 10 in the first half. With the win, Xavier improves its record to 18-10 and 7-8 in BIG EAST action. X heads on the road for the next two games, starting on Sunday, March 1 as it travels to the nation's capital to take on Georgetown. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
