ND paying Weis a LOT not to coach

ND's paid Weis 8.6 million so far since they fired him, and the payments could reach over 18 million through 2015.
This for an arrogant fat-ass who went 16-21 his last 3 years at ND.

Mike Brey was paid a total of 1.3 million, pretty evenly split between actual salary and money from Notre Dame Sports Properties.

so ND paid Weis a ton of money to coach and he did NOT coach while he was coaching because they lost a ton of games. Now ND is paying Weis NOT to coach ND and he is still making a ton of money. Seems like Weis got a great deal.

That's what happens when you give someone a 10 year extension after 7 games. A win over a top 5 Michigan team and a narrow loss to then #1 USC and the ND Athletic Department decided that they had their guy for the long haul.

My ND friend's here in New Orleans could not even congratulate me on Xavier kicking their ass!! They cannot even mention a school's name other than their own!! I promise you they will not ever win again in football. And, they cannot fire this coach due to the payments being made to Weiss!! It's been over for the ND bunch for a long time....

I feel the same way, Joe. If ND football goes 0-12 every year, I'm fine with that. But I root for Brey and the ND basketball team a lot more.

ND guys/alums can be pretty arrogant, but their non-alum fans are worse, and Chicago's got tons of ND "subway alumni".
