Marshall would likely get a pay cut at IU. He makes big money at WS.

What does he make? What does the IU job pay?
Are we talking about base salary or all forms and sources of compensation - TV shows, shoe deals, etc, etc?

26+6=1

Either of them would/should go to coach IU. Sucks but this is a real possibility. Only a handful of jobs that I think could lure Mack and this has to be one of them.

Yep...I think that's the plan. ;)
Oh..on second thought, Ball's dad would be accountable if he was the coach.
Scratch that idea...much easier to sit on the sidelines and pontificate...kind of like all of us...me included.

his dad will be sitting in the stands at NBA games and being his son's mismanager until the son get fed up and tells him to go home because the NBA doesn't cater to sideline dads.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Marshall makes 3.5mm with some upside from what i've read. Sources? Who cares. Much lower pressure than IU. Alford would be crazy to take that job in my mind. He can get better players at Ucla. Lot easier to get west coast kids to La than kids to Bloomington. He's not at Southest Mz. anymore.

X has been to 2 elite 8's in 15 years (though Arch has been to 1 in his first 3), has a much better overall resume in the tourney, plays in an upper echelon league. Of course CM out recruits him. That's not a knock against CM. Tony Yates could out recruit Archie if he coached at X.

There was speculation that Crean would end up there.

I think Mack took a fairly hard look at the Cal job a few years ago but decided to stay put.

He did, and was California Dreaming until the Mr.s said no. Mman and Hops can corroborate.

He also had a great record and ended up a 10th seed. IU can match WSU and then some.
