Wining team did score 130 points, so keep in mind that defense was something rarely seen in this game. Lots of 1-on-1, driving to the basket, 3-point shots, and run outs. Not much passing and certainly no running of plays. Scruggs does look like he has the size and strength to compete right away, but like Tre looked his 1st two years, he looks like he could slim down and bulk up a little, at the same time. Looks a little soft. Certainly very talented and I think he has a very bright future. Naji is very smooth. Didn't seem like he was doing a whole lot, then you look up and see he almost has a double-double. Also voted the "fan favorite" for his team. The two players were on the floor a lot together and seemed to have some chemistry. I think that both will certainly be in the mix next year. Lots of high major recruits in the floor and they certainly held their own.

Scruggs in way better shape than Tre as a frosh. His game is more Ed than Tre. Marshall did look like he was just out there, then you see he had 18 pts. Tried some 3s, hit 1, had lots of 2nd chance points.

Scruggs is in great shape and should give Q a run for his money as PG. He can score at will vs a smaller PG. Been told that Naji will be better than Justin Cage. That is pretty high praise. This is one of my reliable sources.

keep in mind Scruggs is returning from a knee injury and didn't play at all this winter.

Exactly. I didn't mean to infer that his game was soft, or that he played soft, but his body did t look to me that it was as cut and refined as it may become. Tre looked much better this year than he did his first two years, and I suspect that Scruggs will become bigger and stronger as he plays more and trains more under the supervision of the Xavier training and coaching staffs. He certainly appeared to have real ability to slash and drive, and to finish through contact at the level he is currently playing at.
