What have I said all year. X does not play well with a big lead. They embarrassed themselves tonight and will go nowhere in the tournament. Yes I’m f’ing pissed. How in the heck does a supposed #3 team blow a 17 point lead? Goodbye Big East Tourney title, Goodbye #1 seed, and Goodbye Final Four. Heck goodbye Sweet 16.
Thank you Musketeers for putting a very sour end to what could have been a great season.
They also lost semis against SH when they were a prohibitive favorite. Willard called it. Cooley makes great in-game adjustments. Not a strength of all coaches.

Of course they would have lost to Nova anyway. But, I’d rather watch them get embarrassed by Nova than embarrassed the way they were tonight.

This is why I said I preferred to play Creighton.
Cooley is a damn good coach.
But X should have won the game.
You don't let 17 point leads disappear in the 2H.
a tre blown layup in regulation would have changed everything. 2-14 from Tre spells trouble but Naji with only 4 points and 2-9. Just shaking my head
had they had Scruggs and Kanter's line we would be smiling. After shooting 50=% in second half to wind up at just under 37% is just sad.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Macura was selfish on the play in which he was called for charging. If he had passed to a wide-open Goodin, the game would have ended differently.

ESPN just showed the highlights. They are celebrating.

Typical Cincinnati sports moment.

Sick to my stomach, no way this should have happened. We’ve been living on the edge all year long, how many leads have we blown and we’re able to hold on. Tonight it bit X in the ass. I love Chris but my consistent beefs with him are two fold. I don’t think he calls timeouts well. I know he wants the kids to play through it but I believe he waits to long. Game gets too close and we lose momentum. I also think he lets the kids play too aggressively with a lead, I like the fact X plays in attack mode but when we are up double digits I think more control from the bench may be warranted. Worried about the NCAA this team could make a long run or be gone early. As good as this team is I’ve never felt confident when they are ahead.

if Tre made his layup there would have been no need. There were about a couple dozen misses that normally are made shots so hand it to Providence 29% shooting in the second half doesn't do it in any game unless you are playing AH's

Agreed. Give him UNLV East's, X's, or MSU's talent, and you could bank on a FF. He has 3 very good players, no stars, and a bunch of other solid ones who play disciplined basketball. Rooting for them all the way to win the tourney. Another year of being Nova's b+"&h doesn't sit well!

There's one bright side. MM didn't post 17 times about conspiring refs today. Miracles do happen at the gardens.

Being the glass-half-full guy, I refuse to cry in my beer. I see the silver lining in this loss. Every player made mistakes that cost them the game, and I believe they will learn from those mistakes and be motivated to not let this happen again. I also believe this will help our coaches to better prepare them for the challenges ahead. Go Muskies!
Mark Twain was wrong. Golf is NOT a good walk spoiled. It is a shared personal experience in a majestic wonderland guided by God, whose name is called frequently during the round.
