Macio Teague on market

Postby muskieman » Wed Apr 11, 2018 2:38 pm

Cincinnati native UNC_Asheville’s top player, 6-foot-3 sophomore guard Macio Teague, has received his release to transfer. Averaged 16.7 points this past season and has shot 44 percent from 3 in his two seasons at UNCA and 88 percent from the line.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Looks like he can shoot, but can he defend? Is he quick?

Brad Redford couldn’t play D but didn’t put up numbers like this on offense.

Is he even interested in X or X in him?

would not have put it here is there were not some interest but he would have to act fast as seats are limited.

Wonder what Brad would have done had he gone to a school like UNCA or if X would have designed plays to get him shots. Anyway, as we've seen with even players like Trevon and JP, shooting only takes you so far. If you are slow and can't defend, it doesn't bode well. We need players that can score but also defend if we want to get to the 'next level'. X's defense has been easily penetrated in past few years, except late in games when we go offense / defense with some of our players. Jones, Gates, Marshall, Goodin and Scruggs are better defenders but not as big scorers. Tre and JP were scorers but slow defensively. Just sayin it would be nice if these shooters we're landing can also defend.
