This year and many years the so called best or better NCAA players generally never make the NBA draft. This year's NBA draft has many international players and or NCAA freshmen going in the first and second round. If a college player plays till their junior or senior year, then they likely will not be drafted. This year Villanova has 2 players going in the first round. Other than Villanova most NCAA teams going deep into the tournament have no one being in the mock draft, even if a name program. Playing NBA style vs NCAA ball is wider than night and day.

Being the major sport with the fewest roster spots, reaching the top of the pyramid (I.e. the NBA) is harder and harder, especially with the load of international players. On the other hand at least the international popularity of the game has opened opportunities for more NCAA players to make a good living.
