Titles hard to come by

Postby joeabe » Tue Apr 02, 2019 12:52 pm

Looking at coach Cal's record at UK…...26 first round draft choices!!!!!!!!! 307-51 record!!!!!! 4 Final Four's!!!!! 1 Championship!!!!! Kinda says it all about how difficult it is to win it all> Our coaches at X over the years have done amazing things as far a sweet 16's, elite 8's etc with a lot less gun powder.....Go X!

All hail mercenary basketball! I just got a call today to help the Duke "student" athletes with their papers, tests and note taking for the rest of the second semester.

with X having a new coach every 3 to 7 years, and above average players only (not the best of the best)...it will be "almost" impossible to get to the FF, and then the chances to win the National Championship is basically next to impossible to impossible. Even Butler making it to the FF 2 years in a row was amazing, but they never won it all...and now they are back to next to just average. Little hope for the FF..just a big maybe...maybe some day.

Not impossible in this day and age, but difficult none the less. Clearly the path without being one of the 7 or 8 schools who regularly get the elite talent is to be very balanced and good defensively. You do not need to have elite players to be very good defensively, just disciplined athletic guys, and coaching. Trick is to garner enough offense to balance it out.
