HEART
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

TS mentioned Jones sprained ankle tonight along with the cramps but fought through it.
Which makes him the Willis Reed of Xavier

Xavier's offense is 53rd in the KenPom, Florida's defense is 14th. Florida's offense is 52nd, Xavier's defense is 13th. At first blush, this seems to indicate that the teams are evenly matched.

Coach Steele also mentioned that Coach Hurley’s effort to illegally substitute enabled X to draw up the play for Jason Carter, which led to the two FT’s. Those five had never been on the floor together in practice.

You are right!
Unfortunately, the hearts of a few of us may not survive the Season with this Team!
Quite a game, which should serve the Team well. A confidence builder, as critical contributions were required and came from some unexpected sources tonight (this morning?). Goodin, Scruggs and Marshall initially looked down as they sat on the bench in the 2nd OT ... they were among the happiest at the game’s conclusion.
X often creates its own adversity, yet can also overcome the adversity others present. Took some real character to defeat UConn in this contest.

I live in Conn and will wear my X Basketball hoodie all day tomorrow. Even Bishop and Moore with errors got their baptism of fire..our depth saved us tonight

I'd love to have an isolation of Steele's expression when Marshall launches that 3 from 5 feet behind the line with all that time left on the shot clock. On to Miami.

Re: UConn vs X game thread 11/22/19
That would be great to observe.
Marshall fell victim, as many college basketball players do, to “ESPN Syndrome.” Had he driven, been fouled and made a FT or two to win it, ESPN highlights almost certainly would not have shown it. Launch a winning 3 from deep, the winning play is on an endless loop of ESPN highlight coverage.
Such is the world college basketball coaches now confront.
Also, methinks Goodin’s slump may be related to trying to position himself for playing overseas ball (unless he has a nagging injury some of us do not know about).
