There are many stats on the NCAA National Men Basketball Champions over the many years. There are currently 353 Division One schools with a men's basketball program. Only 35 different schools have ever won the NCAA National Title...10%. Only 15 of the 35 have won the National Title multiple times. From the state of OHIO only The Ohio State University (one time) and University of Cincinnati (twice) have won a National Title in men's basketball and that was in the 1960s (60 years ago). Just 3 schools dominate the number of "multiple" titles. The odds are very much against X ever winning a National Title based on past and current history. Never impossible, but very unlikely. Xavier obviously has had 3 Elite Eight appearances , but never a Final Four. Again, only 10% of 353 have a National Title. The odds are against it happening. However, in 2021 3 of the 4 Final Four teams have never won the National Title, so maybe # 36 is in the cards?
