The cost of a National Championship?? a coach? players?

Postby Xavier2005 » Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:52 am

This is obvious, but. A coach and or players alone do NOT make a team or a school win National Championships. Calipari has been at Kentucky for 10 years. He generally gets some of the best high school players in the USA. In 2020-21 year he and Kentucky have one win and 6 losses. Calipari currently makes a compensation package of over $8 million a year. KY and the alumni may have spent close to $100 million in 10 years??? The only National Championship with Calipari is 2011-12. One NC in 10 years . And with this season KY is likely to miss the NCAA tournament 3 times in 10 years. No team played last year and KY may miss its 2nd year of not selected for March Madness. Point?? Spending up to $100 million on a coach and getting the so called best players does NOT get a school guaranteed National Championships. Xavier should be able to get a "proven Head coach " for a reasonable price. The right Coach can get very good players.

Did Steele quit or get fired? I thought we had a coach? Bring me up to date if I missed something.
