Xavier Falls to UConn in First Game after COVID Pause

The Xavier Musketeers returned to action after another COVID pause on Saturday and fell to the Connecticut, 80-72, at Cintas Center. Zach Freemantle led the Musketeers with a career-high 30 points to go with 15 rebounds in the losing effort. Nate Johnson scored 14 points on 4-of-7 from 3-point range while senior Paul Scruggs recorded a career-best 12 assists as well. With the loss, Xavier drops to 11-3 overall and 4-3 in the BIG EAST.

The Musketeers return to action on Tuesday as they travel to New York City to face off against St. John's. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m.
