X Wins Second Straight Knocking Off Mercyhurst

Xavier triumphed over Mercyhurst on Friday night against Mercyhurst, 68-53. The game saw XU showcasing a strong performance, particularly in the second half. Mercyhurst started strong, leading in the first quarter with 14 points to Xavier's 16, but Xavier's consistent scoring and defensive prowess ultimately secured their victory.

Jenna Van Schaik of Mercyhurst was a standout player, contributing 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite her efforts, Mercyhurst struggled to maintain their lead, particularly in the third quarter where they were outscored 19-11. Xavier's Loren Christie was instrumental in her team's success, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

The team's balanced scoring and effective defense were key factors in their win, with significant contributions from players like Meri Kanerva and Tae'Tlor Purvis, who added 10 and 12 points respectively.
