Xavier closed out the Charleston Classic with a statement win Sunday afternoon, knocking off West Virginia 78–68 behind a barrage of three-pointers, disciplined offense, and a dominant second half from its veteran core. The Musketeers improved to 4–3 with the victory, using crisp ball movement and timely stops to control the game after a shaky opening stretch.

Jovan Milicevic set the tone with one of the best performances of his Xavier career, pouring in 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including five threes. The sophomore forward was electric from the perimeter and steady on the defensive end, adding seven rebounds, a block, and a steal. His hot shooting helped the Musketeers withstand an early 21–13 deficit and flip the momentum before halftime.

Tre Carroll matched Milicevic’s energy with an 17-point, 5-rebound outing that included a stunning 5-for-6 performance from beyond the arc. Carroll repeatedly delivered responses to West Virginia’s scoring bursts—none bigger than his trio of first-half threes during Xavier’s 23–7 run that turned an eight-point deficit into a 36–28 halftime lead.

All Wright continued his emergence as one of the Musketeers’ most reliable two-way players, finishing with 14 points, four assists, four rebounds, and a perfect 4-for-4 mark from deep. Each time West Virginia threatened in the second half—cutting the margin to four, five, or six—Wright delivered a counterpunch, including a dagger three with 4:50 remaining that extended Xavier’s lead to 69–61.

Filip Borovicanin added nine points and six rebounds while serving as a stabilizing presence on both ends. He also tallied two blocks and four assists, including a pair of key feeds that created open threes during a decisive second-half stretch. Roddie Anderson III provided a spark off the bench with 11 points and five assists, while freshman Isaiah Walker delivered a crucial sequence early in the first half with four straight free throws to settle Xavier’s offense.

Defensively, the Musketeers executed with poise despite West Virginia’s physicality. WVU’s Treysen Eaglestaff finished with 20 points, and guard Honor Huff added 16, but Xavier held the Mountaineers to 27% from three and forced 13 turnovers. The Musketeers turned those giveaways into 12 points, offsetting WVU’s 32–14 advantage in points in the paint.

Xavier’s efficiency ultimately proved the difference. The Musketeers shot 64% from deep (16-for-25) and did not miss a free throw, going 12-for-12 at the line. Even as West Virginia clawed within six multiple times, Xavier’s spacing, shooting, and composure kept the game in control. The Musketeers closed it out with a 12–5 run over the final four minutes, punctuated by Milicevic’s transition layup and Carroll’s put-back tip-in inside the final minute.

With the win, Xavier departs Charleston with renewed momentum and signs of an offense beginning to find its rhythm. The Musketeers return home looking to build on their most balanced effort of the season—and on the budding chemistry between Milicevic, Carroll, and Wright that powered Sunday’s victory. Next up for Xavier is Texas A&M - Corpus Christi which it plays host to on Friday, November 28. Game time is 5:30pm at Cintas Center.
