Xavier Grinds Out Season Opener Against Texas Southern

The Xavier Musketeers opened the 2024-25 campaign with a hard-fought 78-69 victory over Texas Southern on Monday night at Cintas Center before a sell out crowd of 10,212 fans. Ryan Conwell led all scorers with a game-high 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting including 5-of-10 from 3-point range. He was joined in double figures scoring by three other Musketeers including Zach Freemantle (19 points, 11 rebounds), Dayvion McKnight (19 points, 5 assists), and Dailyn Swain (14 points, 5 assists).
XU has now won 35 straight season openers including all 25 at Cintas Center.
Next up for Xavier is IU Indy on Friday night, November 8 at Cintas Center. Tip off is slated for 6:00pm.
