Conwell Leads X Past IU Indy

Xavier moved to 2-0 on Friday night, knocking off IU Indy, 94-80, in another hard fought battle in the opening week of the season. Xavier was again led by four players in double figures including a game-high 19 points by Ryan Conwell. Conwell finished recorded 6-of-11 made field goals including a perfect 4-of-4 from 3-point range. He also distributed the ball well, notching four assists.
Dayvion McKnight and Zach Freemantle each finished with 17 points. McKnight's scoring included four made 3-pointers in as many attempts. Freemantle pulled down five rebounds and blocked two shots as well. Rounding out the double-digit scorers was Jerome Hunter who finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
Leading the way for IU Indy was Jarvis Walker and Paul Zilinskas who finished with 20 and 17 points, respectively.
Next up for Xavier is Jackson State on Tuesday. Game time is set for 8:30pm at Cintas Center.
