UConn Overwhelms Xavier in 92–60 Loss on the Road
By Musketeer Madness, 2/3/2026

Xavier never found its footing Tuesday night as No. 3-ranked UConn raced past the Musketeers 92–60 at PeoplesBank Arena. The Huskies set the tone early, shooting over 61 percent in the first half while building a commanding 50–22 lead at the break.

UConn scored the game’s first 10 points and never trailed, using its size and pace to overwhelm Xavier on both ends of the floor. Braylon Mullins sparked the early run with a pair of baskets in transition, while Silas Demary Jr. orchestrated the offense as the Huskies consistently attacked the paint. Xavier managed just eight field goals in the opening 20 minutes and went 1-of-6 from three-point range in the half.

The Musketeers showed brief life early in the second half when Malik Messina-Moore and Tre Carroll connected on perimeter shots, but UConn answered quickly. A 13–2 Huskies run pushed the margin past 30, effectively putting the game out of reach before the midway point of the half.

Xavier was led by All Wright, who finished with 14 points on 8-of-9 free-throw shooting. Messina-Moore added 10 points, and Roddie Anderson III chipped in 10 off the bench. The Musketeers shot 36.7 percent from the field and struggled at the free-throw line, converting just 18 of 28 attempts.

UConn’s balance was the difference. Silas Demary Jr. scored a game-high 17 points while adding eight assists, and Tarris Reed Jr. was perfect from the floor, finishing with 14 points and eight rebounds. Mullins added 13 points, and Eric Reibe came off the bench to score 14 as the Huskies outscored Xavier 46–20 in the paint and 30–18 in bench points.

The loss drops Xavier to 12–11 overall and 4–8 in Big East play, while UConn remained unbeaten in conference action at 12–0. The Musketeers will look to regroup as they return to action on February 9 at St. John's.
