I see so Stan's the man and Morrison is a crybaby. Of course, how stupid of me!xeus wrote:Researched? You posted your crap about Stan on this very thread. The sad thing is not so much that people like you exist (because there's nothing that can be done about that - the world is full of sad little people like you) but that this board tolerates your BS.
Stan is the man. He's one of the most passionate players to ever wear the blue and white and I could not be more proud of the effort he put forth this season. And for the record, my eyes were welled up with tears too as I stood in US Airways Arena and watched the amazing careers of Stan, Josh, and Drew come to an end.

You have an incredibly narrow and channeled world view, inflexible mental faculties and a clearly incorrect assumption that any and all members of this forum ranted about Morrison being a crybaby. You would certainly be one of the last individuals I would check with on the "manliness" of anything since you are clearly still a child.

I wouldn't make fun of either for the post game emotion, its perfectly understandable.
These things though point to a guy who could stand a few lessons in sportsmanship, not to mention the obvious impulsiveness/emotional control issues. The last of which could have caused X the game (purposeful distraction is a lane violation).

This time it was Xavier, the No. 3 seed with an attitude, that got Bruin-ized, 76-57. XU was so intense that when a flag-waving, UCLA cheerleader planted himself at halfcourt during the pregame warm-ups, Musketeers senior guard Stanley Burrell told him to get off the floor. When the cheerleader didn't budge, Burrell gave him a baby forearm shiver.
"He was cursing me," the cheerleader said. "Most disrespectful thing I've ever seen. But no big deal." (ESPN)
-------------------
"And so, as West Virginia’s Joe Alexander stepped to the free-throw line with the scored tied and 14 seconds remaining, Burrell began barking at his opponent as he toed the foul stripe.
“I told (Alexander), ‘Hey, you’re going to miss this,’ ” Burrell said. “I felt bad for talking to someone at the free-throw line. I didn’t want to (practice) poor sportsmanship. But at the end of the day, my talking shouldn’t affect him. He’s got to knock it down.”
But Alexander didn’t. Instead he missed the foul shot, and Xavier emerged in overtime by hitting three straight three-pointers that turned a 72-69 deficit into a 78-74 lead. West Virginia never threatened again."

Stanley was perfectly justified in getting those jerks off the floor during the pregame warmup. They were way out of line even being on the floor, much less running around during the layup drill. It wasn't a "forearm shiver" - Stan held up his arm to keep the guy from running into him.
Welcome fellow scholars.

Morrison's team still had a chance to win the game when he started crying. He was the leader and needed to be the one to step up and win it. But, after having the lead ripped away late, he broke down despite the game not being over.michiganXman wrote:didn't we make fun of Morrison for doing the exact same thing a few years ago?
Hell, Stan was taken out of the game when he started crying. The game was over. Don't think they were going to score 19 pts. in 1:30. I think UCLA was playing pretty solid defense to keep us from hitting back-to-back 10-pt. shots!
So, to answer your question...no, we didn't make fun of Morrison for doing the EXACT SAME THING.
