KING JAMES TOURNAMENT

More than 500 teams of amateur basketball players from around the country will gather in Northeast Ohio for the third annual King James Shooting Stars Classic basketball tournament this weekend at The University of Akron, Kent State University and at area elementary, middle, and high schools.

The tournament was created to provide a way for amateur players to receive exposure to college coaches.

The King James Shooting Stars Classic consists of traveling amateur basketball teams categorized into brackets according to their ages. These brackets include ages 10 and under to ages 17 and under.

College coaches and scouts from more than 200 different colleges will make their way to the tournament to watch and evaluate players as future recruits. 552 teams of nationally-top- ranked players will come to Akron to showcase their talents throughout the weekend on 77 basketball courts around town.

I can see it coming ... OSU announces oral commitments from Johnny Deadeye and Danny Dribble to round out its recruiting class of 2016!

no but a 14 year old can from Aiken. Chane bahannen, was like 2nd or 3rd in the state scoring and all ready has teams like OSU, West Virginia, and X lookin at him. I know a local reporter who has talked to this kid several times for interviews and he actually has a head on him for 14 year old phenom. Would be nice to steal another recruit away from Thad in the future. Several years away but who knows
