this is legitimately the first time that i've watched us play Nova and i could honestly say "we are better than them". never before have i been able to say that. the two coaching changes have something to do with that, but we are flat out better than them. and it's nice to be able to see it.

the next two will be even harder.

LET'S GOOOOOO!
I guess you forgot 2/2019 when Zach Hankins, Gooding, Scruggs, and Naji each put up double digits against Nova and beat them by 12 at Cintas.
i didn't forget about it. we were not a "better team" than them in that season. we beat them that DAY but we weren't better. we are this year.

I don't disagree with you AH on the defense having limits but that is not what my comment is about. X will not lock teams down defensively but they could avoid giving up uncontested layups. The team is giving up fewer per game than earlier in the season but they still have several lapses per game. Giving up open looks from deep might pertain more to your comment about lineups.

Nunge is a better defender than many here give him credit for. He has to stay on the floor so at times he will not body players up as much as some would like because the risk is too high of picking up fouls. He has the length to disrupt players simply by standing tall and staying vertical. He is frequently sliding over to help without fouling and occasionally causing misses. The other bigs have also improved their defense. Certainly not elite defenders but an improvement from earlier in the year and prior years.

Question: Does Freemantle have another year of eligibility left because of Covid?
A good question as it relates to all of our “Seniors”
Anyone know?
Only Souley and Adan have no eligibility but with Sean's incoming class and his comment last night " we will be adding to next year's class this spring.” next year's team might look totally different or maybe a Hunter and Zach stay and unless Jones gets turbocharged he is a second-rounder and late one at that so he might stay.

My understanding is Anti Homer is working on a NIL deal to keep Jack in the fold with the argument that if he goes oversea next year, Jack's wife will not be happy so match the overseas money and keep the wife happy. Also, AH claims that his 8 years at Xavier was transformative for him.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Nunge makes NIL money more than we think as do others on the team. If Jones is a first round pick he will be gone for sure as he probably should. Older players don't get drafted. Miller will be getting some transfers. Nunge is going to have to play better against CU and their big. Can't believe it is possibly for a 7-footer to get two rebounds.

Nunge not as athletic as Free, Jones, and Hunter, so all he has to do is make sure his guy DOESN'T get the rebound, and he's doing that pretty well. Free, Jones, and Hunter are going to beat Nunge to more rebounds with their athleticism, quickness, etc.

i've seen that a lot.

i agree, at 7 ft, you should just "luck" into 4-5 rebounds a game but sometimes the ball doesn't bounce that way.

My recollection of the game is Nunge was boxing out the primary rebounder for Nova and other X players were getting to the ball. 2 rebounds certainly seems unusual for a post player but he is generally a good rebounder so I'm not too concerned. It was not a great game for him but he did some good things that didn't show up in the stats. X would be struggling without Nunge.

I don't see the athletic difference between Nunge and Free. Neither are all that athletic but both are coordinated. Luckily they are both having great seasons with a few bad games for each.

My guess is Jack's double-double against Creighton meets with your approval. Guess you will be picking on Hunter this game for taking 2 three-point shots despite his 12 points in 21 minutes
