Like it or not Miles, Edwards, and maybe even Tucker might be called on for minutes. With Hunter in starting lineup and Jack unable to go 40 minutes, Des and Hunter will be getting even more minutes. This team could be dragging by the end of the season and expecting Zack to be in season form after being off for a month might be an impossibility.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

This is obviously terrible for Free. He was playing great basketball on the offensive end. It is a big blow initially but could be great for the team.

If he can come back and quickly get back to playing at a high level, then this should benefit the team. Edwards will likely get a shot at significant playing time. Miles may also get a chance to contribute. The team may even go small a bit more giving Tandy an opportunity to play. If any of these guys can elevate their game, this will ultimately create depth the team is currently lacking.

Xavier will have to generate wins over the next month+ but there is some cushion to drop games and still make the tournament.

Butler twice, Depaul, Nova and St John's at home. Get those 5 wins plus use the Creighton disaster as fuel to beat Providence at home tomorrow. Drop the other 3 and we are still near the top of the conference. Make a run in the conference tournament with Free back and lock up a 4/5 seed.

Terrible news. Freemantle was playing at a All league level . Probably the best Big man offensively in the Big East. My man Edwards needs to step up and I bet he does. We can use his grit and physical play. Hunter will get more minutes too. We have to win all our home games and hope that is enough. What is life without a challenge? I think Miller and the team will surprise and we will regroup and play with more effort. On offense we may have to play at a slower pace. Craft and Claude need more minutes too. Miller will figure this out

Very sorry to hear about the loss of Zach. Wishing him all success in recovery. Coach Miller, I hope you are able to use different players in different roles, playing All For One, and One For All. GO X!

i don't think Miles even sniffs the floor unless we have early foul trouble with Nunge/Hunter. Edwards and possibly Craft gonna get a shot here. Claude will play more when we go small as you will see this lineup at times, especially when Hunter needs to sit:

Boum
Kunkel/Tandy
Claude
Jones
Nunge/Edwards

Craft could possible see his way into this lineup somewhere but i'm guessing he is worse at defense than this group which is why he doesn't see the floor right now.

I'm hearing that Free's injury could be season ending. A stress fracture doesn't go away in 4 months. We really missed him last night. I hope my sources are wrong.

I know Free is a senior but does he have another year left because of Co-vid?

From my perch in Form Completion Medicine (formerly known as Internal Medicine), stress fractures have a recovery window of 2-8 weeks. A critical factor for Free is rushing back vs a likely profitable pro career.

Sorry I meant four weeks not months. Tough break for Free he has really balled out this year.

He does have that option.
