Colby Jones signs

Postby muskieman » Mon Jul 03, 2023 1:47 pm

2 years guaranteed for Colby! Kings sign No. 34 overall pick Colby Jones on a four-year, $8.76 million rookie deal. Jones becomes the first player signed under NBA’s new Second Round Pick Exception.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

yes, an NBC article noted Colby Jones made NBA History with his contract...the first player ever to sign such a (deal)contract.

Wow. Good for him. The Kings got a steal. The Kings play the Warriors tonight and I will check it out. Hope Colby plays. I live in California so I might get to see him play. I am not a huge NBA guy but look forward to seeing Colby play. Rookie of the year.

Didn't realize Boum and Kunkel will be playing too. Wild.

Announcers saying some nice things about Colb and Colby showing how he can play at his pace. Nice and one but missed the FT, steal twice, and gave it up to the big guy. Good rebound and lead the breakout. Nice pass for an assist to Murray. Bringing the ball up the floor getting his pocket picked and then getting his shot blocked only real negatives

Yeah Muskieman sounds like you watched the game too. I thought Colby played pretty well for his first NBA game. Jones had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. He played pretty good defense I thought. He was sloppy with the ball 3 TO's and was missing his foul shots again. All in all I think he did well and once he gets use to the speed of the NBA he will shine. Kunkel didn't play which sucked and I didn't see Boum either. I still can't believe no one is giving Basketball Jones a shot. Hell he had 22 rebounds in 22 minutes in one NBA summer league game last year. The Warriors are desperate for a guy like him. Their second unit is small and doesn't rebound well. He's a perfect fit for the Warriors. He wouldn't cost much and doesn't need to score much. What he brings Defense, Toughness, physical play and bone crunching screens is what they are desperate for. They talk about adding a guy like Jones everyday in the paper. Give him a chance and he will be a fan favorite.

July 7 and 8 articles briefly said Colby Jones has been a big GOOD surprise in the NBA Summer League. Kings sitting Murray. Jones will be the replacement starter and could become a positive game changer for the team next year.
