Lavender dilemma

Postby Brian Fantana » Sun Mar 02, 2008 9:55 am

He is NOT the same guy...no drive and dish, not shooting well.....do you sit the guy til game 1 of the A10 tourny?

1) Is Dante playing well enough to do this?
2) Will a reg season loss AND not winning the A10 tourny keep us FROM a 3 seed?
3) Can we lose 1 game...still get a 2?

At the beginning of the season I was hoping that we could get 10-12 min out of Dante so that we were not grinding Drew down. We have a history of running the legs out of PGs as a long season wears on.

The guy needs a rest. Seeds dont help at all if your most imporant player is not playing. Cf UC after losing Kenyon Martin. I would take a 4 seed and a healthy Drew over a 2 seed with him still limping around. If we want to go deep, he has to get better.

I don't see panic in Sean's or the coaches eyes or in the eyes of the players but as usual the fans are running around like chicken little. This team has learned to win games without one of their stars and done it at different times this year so I will start worrying when the NCAA tourney starts and Sean is worried.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Muskieman is dead right on. When newspapermen have a situation like Drew's to write about, they milk it for all it's worth. Nothing wrong with that, but it may be very frustrating for Drew.
As for frustration in Sean's voice, I've heard him numerous times when he sounds frustrated and he apparently is either hoarse or just tired after a difficult game.
Drew will play when he's ready to play full bore. As far as all of our theories about dissention, saving onself for a possible NBA career and all the other ideas, they're just pure speculation and some of them silly.
Thing is, this season has far exceeded anyone's expectations both in the OOC and the conference phases. For some, when the glass is almost overflowing, they look for leaks even if they're imagined.

its imperative lavender sits out at least these next two games.

he should be practicing...but on a limited basis.

st joes and richmond mean nothing to me. we will still get a top 4 seed...and hopefully hes ready to go when it really matters

Does anyone know whats wrong with him other than a 'bad ankle'? What does that mean? On the post game show last night, Sean did say he didn't know when Drew would play. If its that serious, why is he even in the game for the limited time he played last night? I know that we're all just speculating and that those in charge have his best interests and the teams at hand. But just wondering, what is wrong with his ankle?
