Re: DD reports that Drew has the flu
I talked to Drew before the game and hesaid the ankle is about 80 to 88% but he did sound like he was sick. Joey, as close as it was GW never took the lead because the D was there when the O was sluggish.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

As I recall, when asked about the ankle, I thought Sean said something like he really was at a loss as to what he would do at this point. I agree that it did not sound positive.bluegrass wrote:Sean did not sy anything about Drew being sick in the post game.He definetly sounds concerned about the ankle though. If he's not better in 3 weeks, our hopes for a good run are in trouble.
I think the reason he plays is that supposedly he cannot hurt it by playing on it. So the only way to see if he can be effective is to let him try and then if he can't he has little choice but to sit him. I give Drew a lot of credit for trying and know it has to be really frustrating for him.
I am sure it will be a big topic of the show on Monday but not sure we will really learn anything new.
Sean was happy with the play of a handful but you could tell he did not like the effort on the part of several.

What he did say, though was that it was limiting his quickness on defense, therefore the decision not to play him in the second half. I would think the lack of quickness would affect his offense as well.

I agree. I hope things work out for Drew and that those who didn't show up get the message. Come on, seniors, you are getting the job done but get the others back behind you. I personally would not take a chance on Drew through the remaining games and the A10 tournament. We are assured an "in" and I would rather get a lower seed and a healthy Drew for the dance than the opposite. Sean really has to depend on how Drew says he feels and what the trainers and doctors say. He is smart to pull Drew when he sees he cannot get things done.
