1290 WHIO

Postby GrimeTime » Thu Mar 13, 2008 8:54 pm

After some freaky 20 second music clip just kept looping on 700WLW's stream of the game (I had to go back to work from B-Dubs in the second half!) I was forced to listen to the game on Flyer Radio 1290 WHIO. Here are my Top 10 favorite quotes from the broadcast in the second half:

10. "They are schooling us down on that low block" (X up 9)

9. "Could be that the fatigue has set in here for the Flyers" "Unelieveable... 87% free throw shooter, and he can't make a shot"

8. "Xavier has 10 team fouls, so the flyers will be shooting two each time. That's not exactly a blessing here."

7. "Somebody had to foul somebody down there with all the red shirts on the floor..." (anderson's rebound) "That means Dayton."

6. (London fouls out) "London left it all out there today" "London always does"

5. "I'll tell you what... they aren't letting Brian Roberts even look at the basket"

4. "It's been all about Marcus if you think about it. Dayton's almost going to have to foul to stop this clock."

3. "Out of anyone on the court, that (Lavender) is not the guy you want to foul" "Well, they are all about the same from the line.. not much choice" "No. No choice at all."

2. "They fouled another good free throw shooter in Stanley Burrell" (didn't we cover this already?)

1. "We don't know what's going to happen in the next 34 seconds, but things don't look promising" "They are standing now, giving the X-men a standing ovation."

was # 8 said right after Roberts missed both free throws. He had the flu.

Interesting Burrell held Roberts to no points after a jumper by Roberts at the 14:11 mark. Their best player, their 1st team player (I know I am going to get in trouble with Gary) no points at crunch time. Burrell was so in his head Roberts missed two foul shots.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I didn't get the full drift of it so perhaps I shouldn't post, but one of the TV people said Roberts had had a rough time before the game because he was worried about his girl friend and the birth of their baby! I think the guy said he either got to AC late Tuesday or early Wed. a.m. because he was back in Dayton for the birth and he has had that on his mind for several days. That said, then Roberts missed his two free throws. talk about excuses.

ah new excuses. Some players go out and have the game of their life after their wives give them a baby.

man muskieman, you really have some issues.

i take a lot of the rants on here about ud with a grain of salt, but i think your hatred for ud is a little unhealthy. check that, a lot unhealthy.

i've read your posts very carefully, and i have to admit i am a little unnerved by you. you aren't any relation to pm thor, are you?

you two should get together and go bowling.

Why are college kids having babies with girlfriends, anyway?
