Drew

Postby muncie6569 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:20 pm

As we all know Drew is so very important to our tourney success. I believe it still hurts when he plays. I guess we will find out what is tolerance for pain is. If he can play near his 100% we could make a great deep run. What are you guys and gals thoughts about this situation.

Drew is as close to 100% as anyone else playing in the tourney right now. If Xavier takes a loss it will not be because Drew is not 100%. Xavier will lose if they do not take care of the ball, fail to rebound and fail to shoot the ball with any consistency. If Xavier has less then 14 to's or less, shoots above 35% from 3 and wins the boards they will win by 12 points or more on Thursday.

xavierj, I agree with all of your objective data needed for success but I doubt that these goals will be met with out Drew being the Drew we saw in late Jan. and early Feb. When he does his thing we do our thing. Who knows how much of it is psychological or chemistry or whatever. But our run to the elite eight was on the back of LC and this I think will need to be on DL back.

My point was I think Drew is fine or at least he looks like he is fine. Xavier lost to St. Joe because they did not take care of the ball and they did not shoot the ball well at all. One other thing I think people miss when they look at Xavier, one of the biggest keys to this team in my eyes is BJ Raymond. When BJ is on, Xavier is lights out and they will need him in the tourney. Whenever BJ seems to struggle Xavier seems to struggle.
