Well excuuuuuuse me! I think you disregard the fact that others may have a different opinion than yours.
somebody, the thread is a historical thread (tongue in cheek) which was used before X played any team. It was first used about two or three years ago and worked so well at that time that it became legend. Our resident fireman might have been the first but I could be wrong on that fine point.
Thank You! I was beginning to think I had lost my mind!

Times the Hawk has Died:

1. 2004 A10 Tournament
2. 2003 on David West leading the comeback and scoring 10 in OT at Alumni Middle School Gym, I mean Fieldhouse
3. 2006 Justin Doellman sinks 2 free throws with a broken hand and Justin Cage blocks a shot at the buzzer to win the A10 Tournament
4. Losing to LaSalle at home

I hate St. Joe's because they can't ever win games when it matters. Great job in '04 with only advancing to the Elite Eight as a 1 seed. Great job choking away the Gonzaga, Syracuse and Creighton games this year. If you look up "choke artist" in the Webster's Dictionary you'll almost certainly find a likeness of Phil Martelli and any number of his squads from past years. Have fun in the NIT, St. Joe's, after we thrash the living daylights out of you tonight.

X-Fan: Your mistake on this post was saying that it was your first. You allowed all of the know-it-alls on this board to then pick apart your use of words like "hate" and then question why anyone with a brain could possibly dislike St. Joe's. Welcome to Musketeer Madness! I think we should have a gathering of the MM crowd at some point where everyone shows up wearing a name tag with their screen name. I just want to see if my image of some of these blowbags matches the reality.

Oh, and by the way, I hate St. Joe's also.

Well, thanks muskieman, for explaining it rather than just keeping me wondering why it was said I was disregarding something. As you know I am a very longtime and rabid fan of X and actually had one of the first unofficial Xavier basketball websites back in about 1995 before the official one and any message boards. For various reasons I have not been active here until lately. But hey.

So I am now enlightened as to why the surprising initial response to my seemingly innocent reply. Actually I am not superstitions and really do, in most instances, find using the word "hate" rather rude unless applied to someone like Hitler.

But I promise to object no more and not mess with history and traditions here. I will just, in my own way like to say ...

Go Muskies, beat St. Joe! (And yes I was at the 2004 tournament game and it is probably my all time favorite).

It's just what somebody thinks ...

St Joes had a nice solid win last night which reminded me of their win over Xavier at the end of the conference season. The win last night scared me at first then I remembered that they followed it up with a dismal showing in the next game. Let's hope for a repeat performance of their dismal showing.

Their gym, the old coach Ramsay, the old coach Phil(Ray Barron's father), and the endless showing of Pat's brother during last game is enough to hope for a stomping today.

Also, I am glad they play us today because tomorrow is the feast of St Joseph moved because of Holy Week.

8 more wins.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I can help you out. Many say I am an slightly older Elime Hirsch while others liken me to a younger James Dean. Frankly I see myself as the Jude Law/Johnny Depp type.
