Well all wins are good but Georgetown is awful with a terrible coach. We shot 60% for the game. LOL. I doubt Georgetown will score 89 points again this year. We need to toughen up.. How many times were Nunge, Freemantle and Kunkel thrown on the ground ?Seemed like 10 times in the first half alone .I think I read they have lost like 20 big East games in a row. Thank God for Boum and Miller. We still have a tough time staying in front of people. But you have to love the way we share and pass the ball. The defense is not there yet.

Complain all you want but a win is better than a loss and Creighton just lost their 6th game in a row to go 6-6 for the year. Be happy and let Sean worry about the D because he has proven he can lead a team and make them better. Tough game is coming up on Tuesday so watch them tomorrow against Providence on FOX. Let Boum lower the Boom on the BE

Yes, always happy with a roadie. Sean knows where the focus needs to be yet his task there seems daunting to say the least . I watched Marquette dismantle Creighton. They are clearly playing far better than pre-season predictions. Marquette is multi-faceted and passes well on O. But it was their Man-D that stole the show for me. Impressive win. Love this time of year where some teams gel and emerge while others drift back.

I'll take the roadkill even against GU especially considering that they shot three free throws to Hoyas 32. That ref that looks like a mole (Drieksell?) is as bad as O'Connell regarding calling non existent fouls. As much as we have complained about Free he has looked good and playing within himself. Nice game by Claude, but still not much from bunch although Edwards gave a good few minutes. Defense needs as improvement as we all know, however we don't win this game without Boum and Miller. Our 3 point shooting has been a gamechanger.

Amazing how the three-point shot has changed from last year to this year with X in the top ten shooting 3-point percentage. I hope the scoring ability continues and if X's defense and bench help problems are improved X should be in a good position. While Edwards, Des, and Craft made some small impacts, it was still an improvement, and I can see Sean and the staff's work on them. With the Christmas break, I hope we see even more improvement. After last night's game, I hope Souley holds up because he can't play 39 minutes every game. He seemed not to be tired last night but did miss the foul shot which might have given him a chance at 30 points.

I am hoping that AH's offer to fully fund X's NIL program to entice some players to stay next year isn't just one of his boasts, like when he falsely says he is a moderator or when he tells friends he will again be the lead in the Nutcracker this year. It is a shame he never learned to take direction from Edgecliff when he had the chance to play the female doctor in All's Well That Ends Well

I have seen a number of Georgetown games this year, and it seems to be a pattern of playing well at times and then not playing defense which leads to runs for the other team. They have 3 good guards, but the big men don't seem to have an idea, at times, how to play smart, and their defense on ball screens is problematic. They didn't foul as much as in other games, but that may have been a ref factor as skyhops mentioned because those refs were very inconsistent as I try to be nice about them
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Unless Patrick has an impressive class coming in next or turns this season around, I have to assume this is his last season as head coach.

Hunter provides energy off the bench. Did you watch the game and see the calls on Hunter? 1 was an incredibly obvious over the back by a GT player that wasn't called and instead ended up a Hunter foul. Another was a guy that tripped after securing a rebound. It did not appear Hunter had any contact with the fallen player but he was close so the refs charged him with the foul.

Boum has been amazing and I have had similar thoughts about where the team would be without him.

Nunge plays smart positional defense. He is almost always vertical which allows him to stay on the floor. He is not an elite defender by any stretch but he is smart and makes opposing players shoot over him.

Free has had a great season so far. He has had some bad stretches, especially with turnovers but he is mostly taking good shots and has been great at finding teammates. A big leap forward from prior seasons.

Not sure I understand the harsh criticism of Georgetown.

They have been to the NCAA tourney more recently than us.

Happy to start to 1-0 in the Big East but we also have some issues.

I think most of us have concerns about aspects of the team. Defense allows too many easy buckets. There is a big drop in production when going to the bench. Currently X has 2 solid bench players. That essentially gives the team no room for error. Injury would be devastating - likely cost us a game against Gonzaga and possibly Duke. Foul trouble could be problematic. Even a bad game by a single player is likely the difference between a win and loss against good teams - see Indiana and Duke games.

I thought the same thing. Watching the UConn game and tonight the same exact situation but this time the ref makes the correct call on the GT player going over the UConn player
