Pretty tough half for the lads. No juice . The two cheap fouls on Nunge really hurt. Boum was awful on both ends in the first half. Defense was soft again. Not much effort so far. Don't like our body language.

X teased us with a small run but then they made a few truly stupid and costly mistakes to allow Creighton to build an even bigger lead. Team is lost offensively and defensively.

Sean empty the bench these guys just quit. That trun over by Claude and foul by Nunge on the same play killed us. Then we quit for the first time all year.

Taking Kunkel out was brutal. Claude really struggled Today. Jones and Boum didn't have it either. Tough game

Sean Miller channeling his best Patrick Ewing coaching impression today. Hopefully, in the 2nd half, he channels Jay Wright. Love Des, but he needs a shock collar around his neck that can be used when he shoots beyond three feet. I also just emailed SM Zones for Dummies, but he probably won't take heed, despite the fact that the lack of employment almost caused them the Conn game. The fact that others on this Board opined that the only reason not to do it solely referencing three-point shooting was a non-starter. That kind of thinking should prohibit you from being anything but the 3rd assistant coach for a 4th grade, YMCA team.

More insightful analysis coming after the game.
AH not watching game because X has been in zone a number of times but it has not worked. Maybe a few O rebounds and less for CU would be ideal. They are shooting hometown rim and refs were treated to a steak dinner lst night by Creighton

Kaluma fould out at Cinta but has killed X today
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Great Checkers move by SM calling his last timeout down 17 with 6 to go. I hope he dispenses more sage wisdom like most teams try and score out of inbounds plays. I wonder if they also try to have more points on the scoreboard at the end?

I am glad to see Sean took my advice and sat Free and Nunge. They were SOOOOOOOOO SOFT today. Creighton never fouled because we were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Soft. Sorry I am pissed. Unacceptable. No excuses about being tired or spent after UCONN W.

Ah yes...

Mman pulling a vintage staple on this Board: blaming refs for the losses. As far as zone goes, he played zone on 1 1/2 possessions. One time when they pulled out of the 10 seconds into the shot clock, and one other possession. I think you need to blame the tsunami in the S Pacific for your next excuse.

At least they aren't tired and playing great in transition due to SM's development of the non-starters creating more depth so......oh wait. Scratch that.

I guess AH has turned on Sean. Must be tough to be one of his family members

There was a series of bad calls in the first half that allowed Creighton to build a lead. Miller opting to play his bigs with 2 fouls with instructions not to foul, allowed Creighton to expand that lead.

This loss is a combination of horrible execution and coaching mistakes.

Miller needed to try Caesar and/or Miles before attempting to play Free and Nunge with foul trouble. If they fail to get it done, then go back to Free and Nunge risking additional foul trouble.

Too much 1 on 1 play by Xavier offensively. half dozen times guys attacked the rim with no hope of getting a shot off. Hunter with 3 straight attempts. His worst game of the year or at least in a long time. Claude was a disaster. He triggered the Creighton run when X was finally getting back in the game. His worst game in a long time too. Boum was bad forcing several shots both at the rim and from the perimeter.

I will ignore the first half after the 2nd foul call for Nunge but he did exactly what Kevin said in another post, allowing Creighton to get way to close to the rim before even getting the ball. There was no penetration or other excuse, just lack of effort. He also closed off the lane to then back off allowing Creighton a wide open layup. Can't recall if it was Nunge or Free that guarded a shooter out top to then leave him before the guard got back in position allowing a wide open 3.

With as bad as Xavier played, I have no idea how Creighton didn't win by 30+.
