Re: Portal time and names
We got him
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Great news. Miller and the coaches are heating up. It would be nice to get a couple more front court guys .We will be better and back in the tournament next year. Never lose the faith.

Justine Abson would be a great get. We need a rim protector badly. That's why U Conn and Creighton were so good. Tall Rim protectors too change or block shots. Reel him in Coach.

Re: Portal time and names
He would be a good compliment to Hugley, but Garrison would be a home run. Conwell would make it a phenomenal week. I think Maddox will continue the tradition of our previous, stellar two guards from mid-major conferences, by exceeding his overall effectiveness, because he no longer has to carry the load. Add Mcknight to this list as well. It shows you what stellar coaching can do.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 8:58 pmJustine Abson would be a great get. We need a rim protector badly. Happy to see our conference mates making noise. Teams in the New BE have won 5 of the last 10 NCs. The New BE = The SEC in football.

Would be sweet but y’all are dreaming with Garrison. He’s gonna stay in that region and likely going to command $1m plus in NIL. Let’s be realistic and nail down Abson. Who will fit our puzzle board nicely. Understand he will not be an easy get either but possible. Fingers crossed.

I agree he is a long shot, and Okl seems to be the leader, but he is still in X's sights. The App St big would be a perfect 2nd choice.X-lucidity wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 10:59 pmWould be sweet but y’all are dreaming with Garrison. I want Conwell from IN St. I think it would compel a major defection(s), but if SM was sure the team on paper right will remain intact, he would not go after Conwell. Not enough minutes to go around. I hope I'm wrong.

read on Twitter that Conwell is IN but not sure how valid that is. makes me think Claude may be gone. hearing rumors he is shopping himself to other schools in the amount of 500K NIL money.

Re: Portal time and names
Some vibes that Conwell will commit to XU as well. Tough to imagine we’d get both Maddox and him, but it may happen. Interesting to see what would happen next. A few big man visits this weekend as well. As AH mentioned a Conwell commit could mean an exit for Green and or Claude. An athletic rim protector is needed in the BE. We all know what happened last year with a week front line last year.

Re: Portal time and names
Des entering the portal is not a surprise. I wonder if the North Carolina or UConn as his place to end up will come to fruition. Sad to see him go especially after Sean made him the man last year before the season started and let him do things that others were not allowed to do on the floor. I hate it when the player is swayed by friend's and family's wants and desires. As one of the prime guys in the BIG East, scoring 17+ points on average, he is one of the top prime guys. I remember when he came to X,[*] many pundits said he would be a prime candidate for the NBA.
I am never happy when players decide to leave X but I understand today it is the money thing
