I agree Muskieman. I thought the team came out hesitant and not ready to play hard. I thought Claude in particular was hesitating too much. When he drives and than hesitates or stops almost always bad things happen. I don't know if you can blame the coaches. The team should be able to get themselves ready to play.. They all know their record and how important all the rest of the games are. Don't know what happened to Ousmane? Don't think he played in the second half. He was terrible in the first half though. The team doesn't have a lot of front court fire power and when Claude plays like that on the road it makes us very easy to defend. Just double team Olivari and let everyone else shoot. Nzeh showed some promise and I hope he is rewarded with more playing time. The tournament hopes are probably gone so I think it would be fair to give players like Nezh and Craft some more time. I am more worried about losing Miller than anything else. Hope they have a back up plan incase he goes.

Kam is reported to be red-shirting and has stepped away from the team, so I don't know how much playing him would produce but Reid Ducharne would be nice to see. Also, time to decide on what worth Lazar Djokovic gives the team this year.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Does this mean Kam is leaving?

get down 18-2, basically played them even the rest of the time. you simply can't go on the road and have that kind of a start. i can take missed open looks that are good shots. it happens. but the turnovers to start the game. then the inability to guard. i'm not saying they weren't prepared. they were. but for whatever reason they just came out flat.

that was the difference in the game. you can't WAIT to play hard/play with energy.
How does the entire team start a game like that if they were prepared? I can see one or two, but the starting five and a number of the subs? How many drives ended with a travel hen doubled? How many ended with no one to pass it to when the drive was stopped, and if there was, the pass out of the drive was poor? Passes were telegraphed. The team was not prepared for the style Seron Hall threw at them. Players and coaches didn't prepare and now they have a 37% chance to get to the tourney
Playoffs?!?!?

Many say they would be surprised to see Kam come back. Same could be said for Ducharme as well. You can't have two swing and misses like both of those two and expect to compete. Lazar has almost left the team a time or two allegedly so don't be surprised if he leaves after the season. I personally think he has more upside than Ciani and Gytic because of his size and atheticism. He just doesn't know what to do on defense, but neither do most of the bigs. Ciani plays under the rim and is really slow. Not one of Millers best games last night. He didn't have the team ready and the bigs have regressed as had a few others. Not sure why he hasn't played Nzeh, but finally. Next year could be worse. This team is soft.

I only listened until 16-2, then sporadically after that. Looking at the stats, and some of the game flow, it looks like Ousame and Gytis are looking to compete as the worst duo since Milli Vanilli. And I'm not even talking about their music career, but their stint in the YMCA Men's League. They were and continue to be awful. Des is continuing to make Goodin and Semaj look like Brad Redford. The FCC is going to start to put a warning about content being dangerous to young ballers every game Des takes more than one trey in a game. I think he shouldn't have to actually make the shot but simply hit the rim.

Everyone including SM knew X was not going to be good this year, when they lost their two best players and three best frontcourt players (Lazar missed many critical weeks while he was playing great) at the beginning of the year, in the Conference of Champions. He already said there will be a major overhaul, and there will be. The fact that their chances of still making the Tourney is projected at 30% by many prognosticators is amazing, due to Miller's ability to hide the many warts. I put the odds closer to 6.7%.

SM was less than stellar last night, but at least he tried different rotations and defenses. The core of young players is good, and if Hunter and Free come back, along with a couple of good portal players, X will be back where they are accustomed to being: one of the winningest programs in the NCAA since 1985, while graduating 100% of seniors. Amazing!

Broering and Adam were calling Lazar the second best player behind Claude on the team during the fall before the season started. They must have watched a different player during practice. Lazar also told many he would be in the NBA after his freshman season. Strange

if Lazar could shoot it anywhere NEAR what Nunge could, he'd be a 25+ min a game guy. he just can't. that's the downfall of our bigs. not ONE brings ANY fear to be guarded outside the 3. that's what we lack. if ONE of them could do that, we'd be on the correct side of the bubble right now,.

Good point skip. Lazar was supposed to have the highest upside including shooting ability.

He may or may not be the player they thought, but let's look at players from other countries for the first time who are young and English is not their first language. Lazar is, I believe, the youngest of the three and will not turn 20 until April of this year. Let's not throw him under the truck so quickly.
