I just find it puzzling at times that some people come on here and talk about Stan being THE complete player. As our shooting guard Stan has a hole in his game right now so he is not a complete player. Others say that SB is our team MVP and still others say he is our most unselfish player. Well, IMO the first statement is an insult to Drew (clearly the team MVP) and the second an insult to Duncan and BJ (who scarificed starting roles for the betterment of the team).
I doubt that Sean ask for volunteers to move to the bench.

Mr. N, I agree with your comments for the most part but please recognize that he didn't plead guilty to assault charges because the family opted not to file for assault. Was I in the room when it happened....of course not. Just like I wasn't in the room to see Rose filling out betting slips. But when the weight of the evidence, a person's character, and past history all suggest that the allegations are true, then I tend to believe if there's smoke there's fire. In this particular case (Finn) I trust my source unconditionally.

Ah so Dedrick's character can be taken into account but not the girl. Makes sense.

"The family opted not to file assault charges"

Most would think that this would be because it didn't happen and the girl was perhaps doing something to get back at him...but hey, you're not like the rest. For this purpose, we'll call you *special*.

Any other great insights you'd like to fill us in on? Specifically assumptions concerning a situation you know nothing about?

sweet, I'm not believing Finn or disbelieving the girl. I'm just saying that, as someone who's done 40 federal court trials, mostly juries, I believe those things proven to be true. Anything else is speculation which we're free to believe or not.

For every valid charge that's not pressed, there's an another false charge that's made. It's a wacky world.

I hope Finn gets his act together, and I hope that the girl is moving on with hers as well.

calling someone a piece of dirt is uncalled for considering you were not there. Finn has had problems, there but for the grace of God go all of us. Personal demons many times are very hard, especially when some of your boyhood chums are part of the problem. I think this was not the object of the thread so diverting the thread is unacceptable to me.

Getting back to Stan, can anyone fill us in on the go-to guy for LaSalle, if they even have one? Funny we had slightly less than two days to prepare for UMass but a week for LaSalle. Why couldn't that been St Joes!
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Lossalle? Go to Guy?

Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Kind of like- Lossalle/Major college basketball. or

Major College Arena/Tom Gola's Garage.

Lossalle disgusts me.

The Explorers' leading scorers are 6-1 Darnell Harris (16.1ppg) and 6-5 Rodney Green (12.9ppg, 5.3rpg).

Their leading rebounder is 6-8 Jerrell Williams (9.8ppg, 7.5rpg).

They've got NO "good" wins and a bunch of "bad" losses. They did have a 7-pt. loss to #14 Mississippi, and representative games against Fla. St., Charlotte and SLU.

MOR I guess I was being a little too kind.

The best thing is for X to embarrass them by pounding them until they put some effort into their program.

The way threads morph here amazes me. I read the early posts and left the thread alone. Come back, and we are back to LaSalle fixations.

So let me offer my two cents. LaSalle is in a total no-win situation. Rebuilding and emerging is at best a long term and very iffy process for this that the school does not appear to have the will or the pocketbook to embrace. Times have changed radically from the days when a few star players and a chance good coach were sufficient to attract attention in a once sports-mad metropolis like Philly. LaSalle is in the best of times fourth best team/"francise" in a 5 team local field. LaSalle let it's fan base, such as it was, erode. It will take a talented coach and recruiter at least five years to rebuild. Few coaches are willing to take on that role and that long a commitment. No established coach would be willing to do it.

So I kinda agree with MOR in one respect, things do not look salvageable there.

That said, I don't get what LaSalle is "taking", what free ride they are getting. It can't be much money, really. I don't think any school is getting rich on A10 TV revenues, or is likely to at this point, or even shares out of NCAA appearance shares by the other league teams. If someone has actual dollar figures, i would like to see that source.

While we think having Xavier and Dayton on their schedule is a plus, I am not sure how that resonates beyond the hard core at LaSalle, a shrinking constituency. So while I agree they are not contributing much, I am not sure what they are "taking". Would like to hear more than a rant on that issue.

Reluctantly, I do agree that dropping LaSalle from the A10 makes sense. But I still don't see that as likely to happen, so I'm not going to lose sleep or risk high blood pressure over it.
