just like last time vs. Marq, which we should have won - Marq is simply a great matchup for us - no traditional big that can run great screen and roll lobs (Kalkbrenner) so our defense could switch almost everything and not be in a "terrible" mismatch. bigs did a great job containing when they switched minus once when Free just got beat baseline easily and maybe another time when Hugley got beat. however, the first half was the best defensive half we've played all season - turning Marq over (which they simply haven't done), taking care of ball ourselves, deflections, being active, getting vertical, limiting 2nd chances, etc.

you knew Marq had a run in them but DM's two full court drives really helped keep Marq "at bay" and made them have to work that much harder to come back in the last 8 minutes, which they did. credit to them and some of that falls on us not continuing to attack even when up 15+. you can't just milk the shot clock when you're up and then hope to create a "good" look under 7 seconds. Marq D is just too good for that. we needed to keep pace and attack a little earlier when we had better shots instead of waiting and then jacking up a long 3 in the last 3-4 seconds of the shot clock.

either way, that's a HUGE road win and hopefully some momentum carries over to SJU, who quite honestly, b%&*$slapped us at home last time, so maybe we find a way to secure another tough road win, hopefully.
