Assuming Mack even sees my post (and I'd be willing to bet fairly substantial money he won't), none of my questions are unlike the type of question he routinely fields on his radio show.

And my last question should pretty much confirm how seriously I'm taking the whole thing.

Last but certainly not least, if my post drives some of our more-easily-outraged posters up the wall (and, boy, is it easy to do that!), then, by all means, I have to leave it up there.

Gary, as you know, I have been a staunch supporter of yours over the years. Many of us are familiar with your style of sense of humor and we also know that you are usually sensitive to how others would take your posts.

In this case, I really believe you went a bit over the line. "Tongue in cheek" often doesn't come across on a chatboard. Fortunately, you did respond to a number of critics early in this thread by bluntly stating the fact that you were kidding. That should be sufficient, but it would have been nicer had you been a bit more overt about your humorous attempts during your first post here.

Tone clearly often gets lost in posts, as well as emails, and I've been on both ends of that, so I get it.

But, assuming I had a chance to sit with Mack in a relaxed setting and just shoot the breeze with him over a beer, or even just be a caller to his radio show, I wouldn't feel at all uncomfortable asking him any of the questions that I initially posed in my post, nor would I expect Mack to feel insulted or embarassed by what were clearly very "neutral" (no pun intended) questions by a long-time XU fan/supporter, and questions which have been posed multiple times by other posters on this board (except for the CYE v Seinfeld question, of course, which was obviously just kidding. In that vein, in a postgame fan/team "mixer", I did ask Gillen what he thought of Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl", just because I thought he was tired of the same questions from alums.)

So, if anyone thinks I was intending to insult, offend or demean Mack, that was not my intention, nor do I think I did so in any way. If people choose to read it that way, that's out of my control.

I plan on coming in for the SBU game, and I'll try to set up a location where anyone interested can tell me face-to-face what any awful, horrible person I am. Of course, you'll have to identify yourself as well, so the anonymity thing will be out the window, as it is for me.

I have season tickets in the upper level but have sat in the lower bowl several times this year. Maybe it is just the sections I have been sitting in, but I found the lower bowl fans to be just as exuberant as the Upper Level folks.

I will say that we sit in a crappy location. The people behind us are morons and the guy behind my wife yells at her to sit down if she stands up at the 'wrong' time.

Gary has been more than positive about Chris from the beginning of the season but he doesn't need me to support him. I know he will set up a location but maybe this time he could come visit me because he knows where I sit.....maybe he could bring that beer that Gorilla owes me for the last 5 years....with interest I think it is up to 10-12 beers.
