uhhhh,

Goodin, Gates, Scruggs, Marshall, Bordueaux and Jones make a pretty strong 6 player rotation. If Harden can improve some and maybe we sneak in another solid transfer, we will win 20+ games.Hardly "rebuilding".

A solid core of players for next year.
Strong need for another outside shooter - maybe a grad transfer?
What's a potential concern is if the NCAA goes ahead and allows transfers to play immediately.
Immediate free agency for "student-athletes" and would have to wonder if any of the current players would follow Mack if he were to take the U of L job.

I also think Harden, and that freshman from TX may add some direly needed offense. However, X is replacing the 3 best players on the team, and it ain't even close. O'Mara would undoubtedly be one of the best 3 scorers as well next year, and he can hardly get 15 minutes a game this year. I think next year's team will have to create a lot of offense from its defense, and with Scruggs, Marshall, Goodin, & Gates, if they decide to pressure the ball, it could happen.

Top 30. Yes.Top 5 Nah baby nah, but a ringer coming from a late signee or grad transfer could put them in top 20 territory.

It’s hardly reasonable to expect X to be a top 5 team every year, but I do think that they will be top 20 more often than not.

I saw a program today that was about how Northwestern made the tourney for the 1st time EVER, and how exciting that was for the players and fans. It was easily the greatest accomplishment that they had ever had. We’ve gotten so used to top 20 rankings and making the tourney that it’s become a tragedy when X doesn’t do this. I hope that I never get to the point where a 20 win season, a top 30 ranking, and making the tourney is seen as a disaster or is not appreciated.

If the NCAA in their colossal stupidity allows players to x-fer every year (without sitting out) for no good reason, it will be the worst decision the NCAA ever makes.

As a player, you have to look at the school, academics, conference etc. and not just the COACH of a program.

I just think this will open Pandora's box and be more trouble than its worth.

Doesn't the NCAA allow for transfers in cases where unusual circumstances happen? Why not just soften this up some?

The plan only refers to schools where the coach has left, and the players would not be allowed to follow the coach to the new schools. It’s not open and unlimited transferring.
