Was it what you expected Joe? It took Johnson to career it to stay close.

Here's a more important question, will BR be in attendance during the play-in game held at the dump to say he experienced the NCAA tournament?

I don't know how we can possibly call that team our rival. They are our daddy....we are their little rat dog.

Just for fun...

Things read on the UD message boards:

"I don't know how we can possibly call that team our rival. They are our daddy....we are their little rat dog. "

"And I thought Army-Navy had become lopsided! Realistically, when do we beat these guys again? "

"We might be able to steal a home game in 2012 or 2013."

"who else is tired of losing to X. How do they have that much of a better program than us."

"You would think 31 games in we would have found a way to make freethrows."

"Here's an idea. Make the Flyer program a viable destination for the top recruits in the country. Xavier consistently has great players coming in, and '08-'09 will be no exception. This team lacks talent. Wright was the first major recruit in how long? Forever I would think. I am so tired of people saying that we are a great basketball school. I fail to agree. When recruits start picking UD over X and U of C, the program will be respectable. Until then, we will have players like Binnie to rely on for a win. Not gonna happen."

"I feel so empty at the moment. I honestly don't think I care who they play in the NIT. I've defended kids like Binnie & Kurt on here, but as the season went on, its obvious that players of that caliber are not good enough to challenge for the A-10 title. "

"X = OWNERSHIP
X owns UD
I'm tired of losing to X...this sucks
Tourney = FORGET ABOUT IT. "

With X now winning 3 straight over UD for the second consecutive season, I wonder ... when was the last time the Flyers actually won 2 in a row in this series?

Anyone like to go over there and tell them that it was likely before they were born!

Well, what I do know is that things tend to swing around. I know we have dominated recently, but it wasn't long ago that we won at X, and they won at their place...literally every year for a decade. Let's enjoy it, but I wouldn't dwell on it. We have bigger fish to fry.

Recruiting is not their problem, though I agree its not quite as good as ours. Let's not forget they have a great class coming in next year as well. They recruit players that are good enough to win in the A-10. They were a player away (Wright) from making the NCAA tournament year. When he and Little went down it absolutely killed them. Jimmie Binnie was supposed to be a bench player, and he was thrust into a starting role.

I still have great disdain for Dayton. I am gald we played them and won. Regardless, the great majority of Daytonians scoff at Xavier and X's success every year I venture to UD for the game.
I fear losing to Dayton, which fuels my fire to celebrate uncharacteristically, for me, exuberently after the wins.

I am giddy today!

Looks like your answer is 1990/1991 for back-to-back Dayton wins. For two in one season, 1990 does it there too.

GILLEN: 13/17 76%
PROSSER: 7/13 54%
MATTA: 7/8 88%
MILLER: 8/10 80%
A10: 21/30 70%
