Are we peaking again?

I don't know about you guys but i think the team that played purdue on saturday was the best since our thrashing of virginia, k state, and auburn. Granted the first 5 minutes were hairy but after that they looked very very good. Now if we can get Bj to find his shot, maybe a new court will help, and Cj plays like he did against purdue and the seniors keep rolling I think we could make it to San Antonio. None of our games here out will be any easier unless the West Virginia team that scored 39 points against UC shows up, which is highly doubtful. So in order to get there the good play must stay as well as the team to get hot shooting again behind the arc. Go X roll huggy bear one more time!!!

You might be right. I was of the opinion as X had peaked in December and January, as we seemed to slog our way through so many non-conference games.

But now that we're playing opponents that don't see us twice a year every year, we do look better.

And even though you could argue we had a tough draw, I think playing Georgia in our first game helped more than playing one of the other 14 seeds (Boise State, Cal State-Fullerton, Cornell). Not that those aren't good teams, but our guys needed to be reminded that they could beat a team that won the SEC tournament. I think it was a much better tuneup for Purdue.

Now that they've knocked off the SEC tourney champ and the 2nd place team in the B10 (ahead of IU and MSU), I'm guessing X has regained that "we can play with anyone" feeling.

I don't think we were even close to playing our best game on Saturday.
Lets hope Drew continues to get better (mobility) and Stan and BJ start making some three's. If that happens a Final Four trip could happen.

I would agree, bleed, that, at least offensively, our best game is still in front of us. We've been living inside and at the FT line, and have yet to have a game where we light it up from the arc.

If and when that happens, look out.

One of out big assets is that we do have an inside game to go to if we aren't hitting our outside shots. I think we can win most games with an average outside shooting game. We need to hit enough outside to keep the defenses honest. One big asset that WVU has is the ability to play both man-to-man and zone defense effectively because last year they were strictly zone and under Huggins they have been playing man-to-man.

This Xavier team is playing with a sense of urgency again. I don't see Miller letting them be happy with just a Sweet 16 appearance.

The only diff I see with this team now and in Dec. is Raymond hitting the three. If and when he goes off, this team is capable of beating anyone. Even without him being on, Xavier will beat WVU.
