Total BS from an arrogant ***** who hasn't looked in the mirror in a while.
Anybody think the team or coaching staff has gotten word of this article? That's bulletin board material.
I do think the "pregnant elmo" line has funny. I guess that makes the blob a "pregnant cookie monster."

Unbelievable. This clown seems to blame the level of competition UCLA has faced for their luke warm performances. How are we a small team? Clearly a man who simply doesn't know his facts and thinks once UCLA plays a "good" team they will actually care enough to play a full 40 mins.
Bulletin board material, to be sure. I'd love to hear Stanley weigh in on this.

Hello from Southern California, and congratulations on your win over West Virginia. I'm a UCLA graduate and huge Bruin bb fan, and I'm hoping for a great game on Saturday, win or lose.
The guy that wrote that LA Times article is TJ Simers, who is reviled and vilified by all sports fans out here. He is the Jim Rome of the Times -- he likes to say thoroughly outrageous things just to see who he can annoy.
It appears he has succeeded in annoying you guys. I'd say I don't blame you, but if you knew what he was like you wouldn't pay him any attention.
You can bet your last dollar that Ben Howland and the UCLA basketball team will NOT be taking you lightly. They do NOT believe UCLA has a 'bye' to the Final Four.

Yeah, I'm a Xavier fan and I live in LA, and I can attest to the fact that Simers is universally considered an idiot. It really shocks me how so many so-called sportswriters feel they don't have to adhere to journalistic standards. For example, Simers claims X is smaller than WKY, when the reality is both teams have frontline guys in the 6-8 to 6-9 range, with X actually a little bigger. But what's more significant, WKY is a guard-dominated team. Just look at the roster stats: the top five or six scorers are ones, twos and threes. Their F/Cs average at best 4 or 5 points and 4 or 5 rebounds. So not only are they not phsycially bigger, their big men have nowhere near the role or skills as X's big men. Something you might want to mention when analyzing the game of basketball.
If it makes you feel any better, the LA Times has been gutted by new ownership and has all but given up on journalism, leading to dwindling circulation and ad revenue.
