In WVA, I watched Joe Alexander carefully. He was a very touch match up. Very strong, good shooter, and
much more athleticism than Kevin Love coming Saturday.

Yes, but Love is one of those rare players who can carry a team on his back to the championship... Danny Manning, Carmelo Anthony, Larry Bird (Finals). Alexander is everything you say and would have likely won if he had not fouled out, but I don't think he's quite what Love is.

Love's outlet passes alone make him special. I haven't seen a player like that since T Hill. Turn and throw it on a dime.

He also seems to be always there to clean up on garbage points.

My father, is a UCLA alum and die hard, and has been following them since the days before Wooden, strongly believes that Love is the best low post player UCLA has had since Bill Walton. He is by no means a basketball expert analyst, but I think he is similar to a Q or Wise in regards of history and knowledge of the program.

Love will cause more match up problems than Alexander solely because he knows exactly what he is doing out on the court at all times and is a smart basketball player. I don't think Love will many mistakes or play beyond himself and thats what his strength will be.

You may be right, Biff. Whereas Alexander hit a ton of tough shots last night, I suspect we'll be screaming "somebody block him (Love) out" a lot tomorrow.

Love's other strength is that he doesn't commit many fouls for a big guy, onl7 67 all season for an average of 1.8 per game. He hasn't fouled out all season and has only gotten 4 fouls in 3 games, which just shows he is a player that knows what he is doing at all times and can keep his cool. So X can't really attack him and hope he gets in foul trouble. My guess is that love will get 25 and 13, that much is certain. However I don't think they should try a Dayton on him and let him go for 47 and 18.

it also shows the refs dont think its a foul when he hacks people right across the forearm...right a&m?

keep in mind X fans that our "Love" had 10 boards in limited minutes against WVU, which by the way was an excellent rebounding team.
plus, it seems to me that JLove has hit his peak physically. he looks massive and muscular compared to the competition so far....a real space-taker.
