2nd Round NCAA Tourney in the Palace of Auburn Hills, lost by 13 and only shot 14% from 3.

I was there. Torraye Braggs was our center, and we were in trouble from the start against a much more athletic team. We could never close after getting behind. Greaseball was the other coach.

This time, we are giving up some height and weight in the post, but not athleticism and experience, or coaching.

The only nice thing was my brother had a piece of a luxury suite, with food. At least we suffered in comfort.

I was there also. Remember Posey getting a technical. X never got in sync that game and UCLA was bigger and faster. This year's matchup is much better.

We sat in the middle of the ucla sections, got the ticktes through X, returned by UCLA, pretty sure uc played and lost to iowa state also at the palace.
thier UCLA chant is intolerable. The entire game UCLA fans were complaining about X being a bunch of thugs, asking if it was a cathloic school.

X will find a way to win

I was there as well. I drove to Detroit from Chicago through an ice storm. Very beautiful, but the trip took forever seeing as how everyone was doing about 40mph on the Interstate.

We had somewhat struggled to beat Vandy in our first game, and then UCLA, which I think had gotten some grief about underachieving that year, was head and shoulders above us that day. It was awful.

UCLA then beat Iowa St. in the Sweet 16 before losing to Minnesota, which then lost to eventual champ Kentucky in the Final Four.

I remember blaming the loss on the referees. It seemed like they would call a foul on Xavier for simply dribbling past the midcourt line or looking at a UCLA player. Friends of mine from UCLA essentially agreed with me.

The reality is the higher seed team usually gets the benefit of the break when there is a controversial call. Tonight is the first game this tourney we are not the higher seed in the game, so I expect to hear a lot of folks complaining about the refs tonight. And judging from the breaks UCLA has received all season and tournament (well documented I might add), I don't see it changing tonight.

Hopefully our coaching staff is preparing the guys in advance to expect this and not let it get them down. We played through foul trouble adversity against WVU (not suggesting the refs were against us in that game...just that we had to deal with a number of players in foul trouble), so that should help our boys' confidence in dealing with it as well.
