It was nice to see that Josh Duncan made the All West Regional Team. Too bad he just wasn’t good enough for the A-10 1st team. The much better A-10 1st team members really showed their abilities in the their respective one tourney games. Pat Calathes 37 minutes 6 points, Ahmad Nivens 35 minutes 14 points and the exceptional Delonte Christmas, 36 minutes, 3 points, and a torrid 1-12 from the field.

Very good point. JD had a great season, especially at the end. He was a true match up nightmare for other teams.

With his shooting skills and strength, does anyone think he has a shot at making an NBA roster?

He certainly has the body to make a roster. He has shown a great balance of skills, especially in the latter part of this season, and could be a good fit for the right program.

I wish Josh all the best. He's the second best GCL player we've ever seen at Xavier next to Byron.

I can tell you that Josh Duncan with not get drafted. He has not been consistant enough to be a draft pick. He does have good size, good D, and a good inside-out game. It will be interesting to see if he gets a good workout with someone, and a team takes a chance and picks him up. He could definitly have a long career in europe or something if he so chooses.

He will be in the NBA but...I don't know how much he will play but he is one of the strongest player in college right now and with his ability to shoot it makes him even more of a threat

It all depends on how he does in the all-star camps and games like Portsmouth, and what team, if any, takes a chance on him more than likely in the second round. Josh can probably make good money in Europe, but if he gets the right fit with an NBA team that is willing to take a chance, he could make a lot of money. He will have a degree and its been proved that players who graduate tend to have longer NBA careers and make more money than those who don't. I'm not saying that Kevin Garnetts and Kobe Bryants or those who either skipped college or the one-and-done hires of today don't make good money. Many do. Many have long careers and make a lot.
We may be assuming that Josh wants an NBA career, or is willing to spend several seasons in Europe. Byron Larkin has some amusing, some not so amusing stories about his brief sojourn in South American basketball. Maybe Josh, as Paul Brown used to say wants to get on with his life's work.

I know that several professional down here in Paraguay will be willing to pay Josh Duncan a monthly salary of $1000+. Maybe he should contact me if he is interested. T.I.C.


One thing is for sure though - he would put up the following average numbers:

70 points. 30 rebounds. 40 blocks.

He would go down as the best player in Paraguayan professional basketball history.
